 | The dance program is designed to facilitate student awareness of the body, mind, and spirit through the study of space, rhythm, and motion. By mastering movement principles and skills, students develop a strong sense of self-discipline and positive body image. As students study the historical and cultural heritage of dance as part of their curriculum, additional opportunities to study a wide range of advanced dance styles and techniques in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop and modern dance will be available as part of the ongoing dance curriculum. Participation in the dance program may be substituted for physical education. | | |
