 | The Consumer Sciences program at Village Academy is a spin on an old classic. This program is "home economics" re-imagined for the 21st century. Coursework and labwork are conducted in what is referred to as "The Little House", which is actually a former home on campus used as a lab. The facility not only affords students the opportunity for projects in cabinetry, interior design and renovation, but also provides a full operating kitchen for hospitality and catering electives. The coursework is continually evolving based on current trends and student interest. Courses may include, but are not limited to the following: Textiles and Interiors, Textiles and Clothing, History of Fashion, Fashion Design and Drawing, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Hospitality and Catering. | | |
